3D Puzzle - Holland Windmill
The Dutch have always struggled with the North-Sea and their Rivers, that's why there are a lot of Windmills in Holland. Some of them were used to pulverize grain and other food, some were to maintain the water level in rivers and canals. Most of these Windmills were demolished in the 19th and 20th century but some survived and are used for tour purposes and in some cases to do what they were originally built for. Windmills form an important element in the Dutch landscape with its wide horizons. With it's glittering waters and big clouds floating overhead; without the windmills we can hardly imagine this landscape, which is unique in the world. A windmill is a machine that converts the energy of wind into rotational energy by means of vanes called sails. In the course of history, the windmill machinery was adapted to many other industrial uses.
